The Heroes decide to investigate and assemble into teams including the Avengers, the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four. Once in space, they find the body of Galactus covered in debris and confirm that he has indeed died somehow.
Mr. Fantastic calls an emergency meeting with some of the Marvel Universe’s best and brightest in Marvel Zombies Resurrection #1. Richards breaks the news to Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, and Beast that he has received a message from Captain Marvel from deep space. Surveillance reveals that Galactus has stopped moving at the edge of the solar system.

Upon entering Galactus’s corpse, the heroes find that they may not be alone but decide to continue with the mission. Mr. Fantastic discovers that the form in which Galactus appears depends on the observer; meaning humans see him as human, chitauri see him as a chitauri. We remake the physical form of Galactus in our image by our mere perception of it.
As they collect the data they need and prepare to destroy the corpse, they find themselves attacked by zombie versions of Captain Marvel and other inhabitants from the Marvel cosmos. The Marvel Universe’s greatest champions fall one by one as they struggle to fight back against the zombies and escape from inside Galactus. Even the Mighty Thor and War Machine are overtaken by the virus as the threat begins to make its way to Earth.

On Earth, Spider-Man, along with Franklin and Valeria Richards; witness the destruction first-hand as the corpse of Galactus comes crashing toward the surface.
